Upcoming Show: The Winter Flowers @ The Echo, Dec. 8, 2008

Monday, December 8th, 2008

The Winterflowers will be playing The Echo this Monday, December 8th.  Kimme and I were chatting about them this morning and decidedly rooted them in the visual tradition of Bruegel (the elder of course) and other similar Northern Flemish/Netherlandish artists of the Renaissance. I could give you the typical “neo-hippie-prog-folk” jam, but let’s be fantastical and dub them “Feudal-Lute-Rock.” I’m pretty sure most of their songs are about tending land tenures in point hats and feasting upon mead and wild fowl. No wait, they’d tots be vegetarian…but I guess back then it was “sustainable” so that’s still cool to eat wild fowl right?
