The Return of Dungen
Having recently returned from a successful U.S tour, Swedish folk-psych group Dungen played last night in front of a packed house at Hornstullstrand Etablissemang in Stockholm.
This was Dungen’s first home turf gig in two years and the band seemed both nervous and excited. Like at a recent gig at the Echo in Los Angeles when Dungen dropped jaws and humbled the cool kids into silence between songs, the Stockholm audience was equally excited but just a bit more expressively so. Another Big Strong beer anyone?
Other highlights of the evening were impromptu round table-tennis games that engaged about 40 beer-drinkers and racket-wavers. Opa! Don’t let the ping pong ball bounce off into the crowded bar!
Here are some live clips from Swedish and Norwegian television:
This is an extended and rather goofy version of Det Tar Tid, featuring a chipper Gustav, Johan and Mattias walking through the club while singing, playing, laughing, smoking, drinking coffee, making a xerox and drumming on kitchen zinks.
Here is a clip of Gustav singing and playing Ingenting Är Sig Likt in a Stockholm Studio.
This is a funky solo performance of Det Tar Tid from Swedish Z-TV.
